(Introduction to Member and then Their Last Name)
Hello Representative/Senator/Congressman/Congresswomen _________,
(First Paragraph: Introduce your disorder, name, age, occupation, effects of medication)
I am a chronic pain patient with a rare disorder called interstitial cystitis (bladder and testicular pain). I am a 23-year old male college student and currently am under the care of a pain specialist who has me on a slew of narcotic pain killers. The confusion, continued pain, nausea, depression and other side effects are terrible: yet, it is better than the pain I am in without them.
(Second Paragraph: Copy and paste this part/Introduce your Pre-Intent)
I recently saw North Carolina is attempting to pass a medical marijuana bill and I wanted to ask you a question regarding it. I have seen the Department of Health and the Drug Enforcement Agency on television claim that is has not proven or documented medical uses.
(Third Paragraph: Copy and paste this part/State your Post-Intent)
Then I came across this (link below). The United States actually patented cannabis as a neuroprotectant and an antioxidant in 2001. I am confused why they would have done this if it has no documented medical values.

(Fourth Paragraph: Your Usage of Cannabis to Garner a Personal Connection to the Bill)
I have used cannabis in the past to see how it would affect my pain levels and it was unmatchable to any medications I have taken in the past three years without any side effects that were noticeable. Please keep people like myself in mind when and if this bill comes across your desk. I am not too thrilled about having to be on opiate medication the rest of my life to manage pain while hearing its comparable to heroin (which grosses me out).
(Fourth Paragraph: The Final Why You Support It What & Why - Bring up the Bill Give Link)
I am not a drug addict, I am looking for relief using a plant instead of the opiate medication I am currently stuck with to avoid being arrested which would ruin my future in career. (HB84 bill below)

(Fourth Paragraph: Thank them for reading your email sincerely)
